The Room of Requirement

Not Your Average Reread
What if the stories you love aren’t just entertainment?
What if they’re invitations to know yourself more deeply?
Every week, we pair a chapter of Harry Potter with tarot, psychology, and embodied reflection. We read not to decode the story, but to let the story illuminate us.

Welcome to the Room
The Room of Requirement appears when it's needed. We think stories can do the same.
- Instead of asking, “What did this chapter mean?”
- we ask, “What is this chapter showing me about my own life?”
The Room of Requirement is a reflective podcast that treats story as a mirror. Through thoughtful conversation, tarot and oracle cards, the Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapuetic model, and embodied awareness, we explore how fiction can help us better understand ourselves and the lives we’re living.
Every episode is an invitation to slow down, notice what resonates, and leave with a question worth carrying into your own life.
How We Read Stories
THREE PRACTICES. ONE CONVERSATION. ONE TAKE.
Every episode brings together three complementary practices that help transform reading into reflection.
Story
Stories create enough distance for us to recognize ourselves with fresh eyes. Instead of asking whether a character's actions are right or wrong, we ask what their journey reveals about our own.
Symbol
Tarot and oracle cards aren’t used to predict the future. They help us ask unexpected questions, uncover meaningful patterns, and notice what wants our attention.
Embodied Reflection
Insight isn’t only intellectual. Through IFS, somatic awareness, and reflection, we explore how understanding becomes something we can actually live.
It’s Not Really About Harry Potter
- The books are our starting place.
- The conversations are about being human.
Every chapter opens the door to conversations about belonging, grief, courage, shame, love, identity, hope, fear, healing, and the stories we tell ourselves.
You don’t need to have every detail of the Wizarding World memorized to find yourself in these conversations. If you’ve ever wondered why certain stories stay with you long after you’ve finished them, you’re already speaking our language.
Come As You Are
Whether you’re reading Harry Potter for the hundredth time or are returning to it after years away…
Whether tarot feels deeply familiar or completely new…
Whether you’re spiritually curious, psychologically minded, or simply longing for a more meaningful way to engage with stories…
There’s a place for you here.
The Room appears when it’s needed. We hope it finds you at the right time.
